Today we decided to go out for a run earlier than usual as there was a weather front coming in which would wash away all the snow. Before we left, I grabbed the gopro hoping to spend a bit of time making a video.. However my battery had other ideas! As it was a cold day I put on my new trail running leggings that I picked up from Decathlon a couple of weeks ago (https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/men-s-trail-running-tight-shorts/_/R-p-166051?mc=8546195&c=BLACK).
We arrived at the bottom carpark, which was pretty empty for a Saturday morning, jumped out the car and did a few stretches. I fired up the gopro to find it only had a few percent of battery life remaining, so we just got on with the run.
The cold air was nice in the lungs as we started up the hill and the path underfoot was a little slippy. We just took it easy to avoid any injuries. There was a few other runners out and plenty of dog walkers of course.
I managed to get some footage, although it was while running so it’s a little shaky. We managed to beat the on coming weather front and made it home before the rain!
Running in the snow focuses the thoughts and keeps your attention on the job in hand. I find it to be a good way to calm the mind while great practise for foot placement. We are looking forward to the snow returning and getting out again.
Here is the Garmin report on the run https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/6085201723
Because we had so much fun on this run we decided to have another go!
